nextstep promotes the value of learning and skills to all adults aged 20 and over.  These services are designed to help you if you need to improve your job prospects or skills, get a qualification or just make the most of your existing job.

Anyone aged 20 or over can get help with writing CVs, interview techniques, and with finding courses to get qualifications.  Usually the first contact with nextstep would be through a ‘Universal’ workshop and anybody can attend.  If an individual interview is required your situation would need to be assessed to ensure you meet certain criteria.

What to expect at the Universal workshop

Anybody over 20 can attend these. We cover a variety of topics usually supported with some hand-outs, (this may include a template on how to create a CV, an example of a speculative letter and other relevant information.)  Also interview skills may be covered including the impressions interviewers get from your answers.  An Action Plan will also be given out so you can score yourself on your confidence in certain situations at the start of the session and how you feel at the end of the session.  This page is for you to keep and will not be used by us.
