Finding a new job can be challenging, whatever your circumstances
Look at the search for employment as a project, and give yourself a list of tasks for each week; e.g. look in newspaper, go to the job centre, and combine them with some of the suggestions below.
Sometimes it can be a number of weeks, or even months, before you find your ideal job, but the more effort put you into looking, the better your chance of finding one.

1. Jobcentres
To find the nearest Jobcentre Plus office to where you live, ring 0845 6060234 or visit Jobcentre Plus
2. Local Libraries look in local telephone directory, Yell.com or your local council website.
3. Local and National newspaper vacancies page.
4. Look at your local government website for job vacancies.
5. Ask relatives or friends to let you know if they hear of any vacancies.
6. Consider volunteering work to be trained in the work environment and get qualifications and look at the jobseekers advice pages of direct.gov.uk.
7. Look at local newsagents shop windows.
8. Talk to your adviser about courses to help you get more qualifications.
If more help is needed, the next step could be a universal workshop with a nextstep adviser where any issues can be discussed. If further help is required talk to the adviser at the end of the session see if you are eligible for an individual appointment.
